The UK's Official Type Approval Authority
The Vehicle Certification Agency is the United Kingdom's official type approval authority — an executive agency of the Department for Transport. It holds technical appointment as the E11 authority under UNECE regulations and serves as appointed Technical Service for EU e5 (Sweden) and e4 (Netherlands) approvals.
For any manufacturer seeking market access in the UK, across UNECE signatory markets, or through EU member states, VCA's mark is one of the most recognised and respected in the world. Its approvals are accepted across dozens of jurisdictions. Earning one means your vehicle or component has been evaluated by a body with the legal standing and technical rigour to back it.

Direct, not delegated
Most consultancies prepare documents and hand them to whoever handles submission next. KaM's perpetual authorised contract means the application goes to VCA under KaM's authorisation — accepted as coming from a known, contracted, trusted counterpart.

The VCA Quality Policy, agreed and signed by both parties in June 2024, formalises the standards to which both organisations hold each other. This is a working relationship maintained in practice — not simply inherited from a decade ago.

The contract covers India and Southeast Asia. For a manufacturer based in either region, you have direct access to one of the world's foremost type approval authorities through a single point of contact. KaM carries the relationship. You carry none of the overhead.
